About  Us
Our Successes
The Society was chartered in 2005 and has been incorporated. We now have (501)(c)(3) status with
the I.R.S. The Society has already managed a tour to Scotland and marched in Pipefest'05. We have
also organized a library which members have access to. The Society also has a quarterly newsletter
available to members. We have sponsored Celtic Music Concerts. Of these, we are sponsoring the
Celts For The Hungry Festival which features Celtic musicians donating their time and talent to
benefit the hungry in our communities. Our first was held in Santa Fe last year and this years will be
held on September 26th at St. Stephen's Methodist Church in Albuqueruqe, New Mexico.  click on
CELTS for more info.
Our Interests
Our interests cover a vast area including the history, language, art, music and dance of the Scottish,
Irish, Welsh, Manx,Cornish, Galician and Breton peoples. We participate in parades, Celtic festivals
and highland games. We participate in gaelic language groups and gaelic singing groups. We promote
Celtic music in the area and are supportive of Celtic dancers in our area.
Highlights
2005 highlights include our trip to Scotland where we marched with 11,000 pipers, drummers and
clansmen from 30 countries setting a new world record and raising around a half a million dollars for
Marie Curie Cancer Care. That was Pipefest '05. We began participating with the New Mexico
Scottish Gaelic Singers before our meetings which has been a delight! Our meetings are monthly,
normally the third Sunday afternoon of the month and alternate between Albuquerque and Santa Fe,
New Mexico. Our meetings normally have a presentation on the interests of the Society  along with
good fellowship and refreshments.
The Society set up a booth at the Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival & Highland Games at the
Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Park in May of this year and also marched with our banner with the
Clans & Societies.
The Society hosted our fourth live concert in Federal Park in Santa Fe, New Mexico on Saturday,
May 9th  of this  year.  It was billed as "Bagpipes In The Park" with  the Mac-Tyre of Skye Pipers
and Drums of the Order of the Thistle along with the Celtic Singers of New Mexico as performers.
This  concert is always  free to the public and will be provided annually by the Society.
We have also just hosted our second "Robert Burn's Dinner", the haggis  made by Mary McDaniel  was
fantastic once again!

"The Celtic heartbeat is a lively one, filled with a sense of what
revolves around us. The various Celtic cultures display this
sense of awareness in their language, art, music and dance. Be
it Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Manx, Cornish, Galician or Breton;
the heartbeat vibrates with the living."  K.A."Dusty" McDaniel
